Asymmetric Cantilever Construction Control of a U-Shaped Box Concrete Continuous Bridge in Complex Environment

The bridge of Shanghai Metro Line 10 over 6 is a U-shaped concrete single-box double-cell box beam continuous bridge. A novel method applied to construct the asymmetric cantilever prefabricated and assembled due limited construction space complex environment. Four mechanical state control methods are during T-shape structure process: tensioning pre-stressed steel strand, jacking by axial force servo system, adjusting leg reaction force, setting auxiliary leg. Auxiliary measures such as compressive column, side-span counterweight, temporary pre-stressing also taken into consideration. finite element simulations performed measure effects four process. front erection machine deflection then monitored.
